Lumrix is the latest generation of polymer gypsum available from the e-cupstone.co.ukdesigned for discerning creatives, artists, interior designers and DIY enthusiasts. The ready-to-use, dry mix combines a unique hardness 65 MPahigh fluidity and extensive styling possibilities - including the creation of realistic effects terrazzo and marble.
They were developed on the basis of the best experiences with HandiCast and SnowCast, Lumrix sets a new standard among polymeric gypsums.

Lumrix gypsum can also be used as Plastic moulding compoundideal for creating figurines, imprints or creative applications on finished products.
To get the right consistency:
Use 100 g of powder for 14 g of water.
Proceed step by step:
- Pour 50 g of powder into water and mix thoroughly until smooth.
- Add a further 20 g of powder and mix again.
- Then add 15 g of powder and mix.
- Finally, add the last 15 g and knead the whole thing with your hands - like bread dough.
The finished mass is suitable for gluing shapes, making impressions in moulds and gluing details to other polymer plaster parts.
For larger volumes it is recommended to use slowdown available in our range.

How to prepare the Lumrix mix?
Mixing ratio:
100 g powder : 25 g water (adjustable from 22-28 g water per 100 g powder)
Method of preparation:
- Pour the powder into the water, never the other way around.
- Stir vigorously for a minimum of 90-120 seconds.
- Use the finished mixture within 15 minutes.
Calculation of quantity needed:
- Measure the volume of the mould with water (X = amount in grams).
- Calculate the weight of powder needed: G = X × 1.6
- Calculate the weight of the water: W = G × 0.25

- Prepare the tinted Lumrix mix and spread thinly on the foil.
- Once cured, crush the material into coloured chips.
- Add the chips to the fresh mixture and pour into the mould.
- Wet sand after curing to reveal the texture.
How to create a marble effect with Lumrix?
- Prepare two or more tinted Lumrix mixtures.
- Pour them into the mould at the same time, stirring gently to create marbled transitions.
- Avoid over-mixing so that the colours don't blend into one shade.
- Leave to cure - ready without the need for sanding.
Final treatment and protection
- After 48-72 hours: sanding, colouring, varnishing possible.
- In case of contact with water - recommended to protect min. 2 layers of protective varnish.
Health and safety - working safely with Lumrix plaster
- Wear gloves, goggles and protective clothing.
- Work in a well-ventilated room.
- Keep the material away from food and children.
