Top-grade adhesion silicone for casting moulds is used in a wide variety of applications.

Moulds created from ADE-10 are used repeatedly in the production process:

  • polymer clay;
  • acrylic and epoxy resins;
  • gypsum;
  • concrete and cement;
  • wax and paraffin;
  • soaps;
  • liquid plastics and polyurethane.

Resilient and durable moulds, made by hand, make it possible to accurately reproduce decorative and building elements, floor and wall ornaments, jewellery, accessories, parts of complex mechanisms (seals or shafts), kitchen tools, souvenirs.

Main features of ADE-10 mould casting silicone:

is a platinum-based two-component moulding compound with a variety of properties.

Before purchasing silicone for mould making, it is recommended to pay attention to the key features of the ADE-10 product:

  • ease of use - no special preparation or advanced equipment is required to obtain silicone moulds for concrete, resin or gypsum, simply read the instructions carefully and follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • optimum 'lifespan' - the initial curing period is approximately 24 hours at room temperature (22-25โ„ƒ), it should be noted that higher ambient temperatures accelerate the curing process and heating equipment such as an oven or heater can be used to speed up the process.
  • non-active polymerisation - mould silicone cures for 24 hours, allowing for excellent venting, the key is to maintain the right temperature regime and low humidity in the area where the reaction takes place.
  • No shrinkage - as it thickens, the silicone does not release any by-products, meaning that the platinum moulding material does not shrink, guaranteeing precise matrix reproduction.
  • safe - the two-component mould silicone is non-toxic and safe for the skin.
  • high mould resistance - platinum compounds have excellent hardness, strength and tear resistance, making them ideal for reusable moulds.

Preparation of the platinum compound into moulds

To make a two-component mixture, you need a casting container, a paddle or automatic mixer for mixing and a product matrix.

Note that the platinum liquid base is not compatible with moulds containing sulphur, lead or amino acids. Therefore, models made from plasticine containing sulphur or those created on a 3D printer using (photopolymer) resin may cause undesirable chemical reactions with platinum silicones.

Mixing and venting

Mixing the ingredients should take 2-3 minutes at a ratio of 1:1. You can use wooden or plastic spatulas, a kitchen blender or even sushi eating sticks left over from ordering.

Before starting work, the casting capacity and all tools must be washed, dried and degreased with spirit or special building fluids.

To check whether the mixture is properly mixed, a drop of colour can be added. If the mixture changes shade evenly, it means that the components of the compound are well mixed.

The finished mixture should be poured into a suitable vessel and left to cure completely at room temperature. Platinum silicone removes air bubbles on its own and therefore does not require special degassing.

However, if you decide to degas the mixture to enhance the strength of the mould:

  • The optimum operating time in the vacuum chamber is 2-5 minutes at a pressure of 10-25 mmHg;
  • choose a vessel that is 2-3 times the volume of the silicone, as the mixture increases in volume during degassing and returns to its original state once the process is complete.

Complete curing of the silicone matrix takes place within 48 hours. After this time, the mould can be used in the production process.
